La Tal Farlow e' rimasta in catalogo dal 1962 al 1967, con una produzione assai limitata: 215 chitarre in tutto. Quella che vedete qui e' una delle 39 realizzate nel '63, anno in cui gli ultimi PAF vengono installati sulle Gibson. Questo strumento ha un PAF al manico e un Patent Number al ponte (peraltro identico all'altro), piu' tutte le caratteristiche standard del modello: corpo in acero, manico in acero in tre pezzi, ponte tune-o-matic senza il filo per trattenere le sellette in nylon, hardware nichelato, ed e' tutto originale, comprese le meccaniche Grover Rotomatic. Poi ci sono naturalmente tutti gli elementi decorativi tipici delle Farlow, dal doppio intarsio sulla paletta al ricciolo sul corpo, all'attaccacorde col nome dell'artista nell'inserto in legno e madreperla.
Cio' che salta subito agli occhi, comunque, e' la grande bellezza dell'acero del corpo, fiammato fino alla follia. Bello anche il palissandro brasiliano della tastiera e della base del ponte. Un classico del jazz, ma anche uno strumento molto raro e di particolare bellezza.

The Tal Farlow appeared in Gibson catalog from 1962 to 1967, with a very limited total production of 215 guitars. The one you see here is one of the 39 built in '63, the last year for PAF pickups, and it has one PAF in the neck position and one Patent Number at the bridge. It has all the standard features of the model: laminated maple body, three piece maple neck, tune-o-matic with nylon saddles and no retaining wire, nickel hardware, and is all original including Grover Rotomatic tuners. Of course there are all the decorative motifs typical of the Farlow, from the double headstock inlay to the cutaway scroll, too the wood & pearl insert in the tailpiece. 
Fantastic woods, very flamed maple body and neck. Also beautiful the rosewood of fretboard and bridge base. A classic jazz guitar, but most of all a very rare and beautiful instrument.
