FENDER STRATOCASTER Fiesta Red, 1963

This is a special guitar... for her beauty, her rarity, her story. Original custom color "Fiesta Red", over a white coating layer and with grey traces showing through the scew-holes and some worn spots. No doubts about the originality of the Fiesta Red. This color was covered at some point  by a black refin (whose traces are still visible on the vertical faces of the body routings), later patiently and carefully removed by a very skilled professional luthier. Unfortunately this job has removed also the clear lacquer which probably was once over the red, and could not cancel all the traces of the heavy sanding given before the black refin, because these were going through the red and could not be removed without damaging the red itself.  Normal finish wear for its age.
All original parts. Neck date is August 1963, Kluson Deluxe single-line tuners, black-bottom pickups, 3-way selector switch, CTS pots dated 12th week of 1963, capacitor and wiring, Switchcraft jack socket, bridge with Fender Pat. Pend. saddles, plastic parts and knobs, spaghetti logo in fine conditions, clay-dots on a curved rosewood board, ‘green guard’. Body is structurally intact and solid, no extra routes, no extra holes. Pickguard has the screw in the middle of the two pickups, as was the rule until mid-63.
Very rare and sought-after pre-CBS Custom Color, far from being mint, but still original and great-looking.
Missing parts: bridge cover and vibrato arm. Probable refret (original nut). Very easy to play, and exceptional sound! Original brown tolex hardshell case in very fine condition.
