FENDER STRATOCASTER, 1966

sunburst. Neck is dated February 1966. Original guitar, except for neck-pickup (with original cover). Potentiometers are all dated 1965 (CTS), middle and bridge pickups are dated May ’66.  Large headstock with transition logo. Original Kluson DeLuxe tuners, original pickguard, pickup covers, knobs, selector switch tip, three way selector switch. Excellent overall conditions, no breaks and all-original finish in great shape: normal playing wear under right arm and on the back, and also on the back of the neck. Beautiful rosewood fretboard, refretted a few years ago by luhier Salvatore Mancuso. Original ‘For Fender’ hardshell case, with which the guitar was originally purchased. A really beautiful and well-cared-for guitar, original (except for neck pickup), and professionally used through the years by a well-known session player, who has always treated it like the gem it is.  He asked Mancuso to install a capacitor at the volume pot (post-67 Tele-style) to avoid the loss of highs when rolling off the volume, but this mod can be easily reversed and we'll be glad to do that for you if you ask.
